I have seen many articles in my local newspaper and national newspapers that just do not apply to the Salem market. I will concede the fact that most real estate markets throughout the country are suffering somewhat but I think the suffering is coming from a misinformed public. The problem that I see is the fact that the media wants to paint in broad strokes when they speak about real estate. I think that they relate the real estate markets to the stock market. Until very recently the media has not covered the real estate market and thus they are not very skilled in this topic.

For example, I compile a market analysis every month that breaks the Salem and Keizer area into six different areas. These six areas are the broken into five different prices ranges according to the area. Of course the media does not have the resources to do this but in reality it is the only way to TRULY understand what is going on in the market.

So with this being my first post I will keep it to a manageable length. My intention is to shed light on the various areas in both Salem and Keizer both in terms of what the real estate markets are doing but also what projects are coming on line. So with that being said, I hope that all that read this blog will enjoy what I have to say and learn more about the Salem-Keizer real estate market.

introduction,markets,media,misinformed,real estate,market analysis
